We consider ourselves to be an integral part of global health care as a leading producer of eggs and related biological media, which are used for the production of human and veterinary vaccines as well as for pharmaceutical research.

In the past ten years alone, we have invested more than 120 million euros in our global production infrastructure, software, and quality management.

Today, we supply our customers from a global production network, ensuring that we combine the advantages of local production (such as local service, short transport routes) with the security of supply of an international network.

  • 1956-1958Heinz Lohmann, founder of Lohmann Tierzucht, agrees collaborations with geneticists, feed specialists and veterinary surgeons

  • Seit 1968Use of the trade name "VALO" (Vakzine Lohmann)

  • 2009First company to produce SPF eggs that are free of the endogenous leukosis gene P27

  • 2011VALO BioMedia GmbH is founded as the home for all SPF and Clean Egg activities of the EW GROUP
